Lilith's Rain

My original brief was to create assets which served to complement and contextualise the live action and the original sound design. A suspension screen at a 60-degree angle to a mirrored wall was used to project live footage and animations. During the process the possibility of creating unique interactions between the performers and the projections was discovered and we began to work with the installation as an active agent in the devising and choreography of the piece.

The final result was a 30 minute film that became the back-bone of the piece, involving live footage, after effects compositions, animations that ran in parallel, and interacted with the live performers. The challenges in this project were numerous. Choreographing a live performance to a video that dictated the duration of the piece was demanding. The most rewarding moments were the performers interacting with life sized projections of themselves.
